Adolescent girls in Howard County can learn leadership, communication
and self-confidence skills at a weeklong camp this summer.
"The theme of the camp is understanding what it means to be a woman through self-awareness, relationships and community," said Jean Moon, co-founder and advisory board member for the Women's Giving Circle, a woman's philanthropic group in Howard County that is funding the camp.
Journey
2007, which had its pilot year last summer, is open to any incoming
eighth-or ninth-grade girls, but only 50 girls will be selected to
participate in the seminars and recreational activities.
