New Advisory Board members include Diana Bailey, Megan Bruno, Beverley Francis, Norma Hill, Carole MacPhee, Courtney Odum-Duncan and Beth Singleton. Bruno, Odum-Duncan and Singleton are daughters of WGC founders Yolanda Bruno, Linda Odum and Jean F. “This is a bittersweet milestone for the Women’s Giving Circle, as we enter our seventh year, thank and say goodbye to our founders, and welcome new leadership, which includes the daughters of our three founders” says Beaudoin-Schwartz.  “This transfer of leadership from one generation to the next is one of our goals – to encourage the growth of women’s philanthropy across generations – and we are proud to be walking the talk.”

The Women’s Giving Circle is a community of women philanthropists addressing the needs of women and girls in Howard County. Among its activities, WGC has established a scholarship fund at Howard Community College for women who are seeking training to improve their employment options. WGC has also founded a residential camp for middle and high school age girls, Journey, which will be held at Washington College June 21-27, 2009.
