Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz Women's Philanthropy Award Fund
The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County is honored to establish the WGC Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz Women’s Philanthropy Award - a new annual recognition that celebrates the power of women supporting women and the transformational impact of collective giving in our community.
Beginning in March 2026 and presented each year at our Annual Celebration & Pink Party, this award will honor one exceptional woman who embodies the spirit of generosity, leadership, and community that defines the Women’s Giving Circle. Recipients will be women who have demonstrated visionary leadership, innovative thinking, and a deep commitment to strengthening the lives of women and girls in Howard County.
We are proud to name this award in honor of Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz, the WGC’s first and only Executive Director, an original founder, past Chair, and a driving force behind our growth for more than two decades. Buffy’s leadership, passion, and steadfast dedication have shaped the Circle’s identity and expanded its impact in lasting ways. Establishing this award in her name is a tribute to her extraordinary service and enduring legacy.
Each year, the honoree will also have the opportunity to direct a $5,000 grant -funded by the WGC - to a Howard County nonprofit of her choosing that supports women and girls. This meaningful gift ensures the award is not only a celebration of leadership, but also a direct investment in the community and the next generation of women changemakers.
