WGC Statement of Transparency
The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County (WGC) is committed to transparency in every aspect of our organization and our funding.
WGC Advisory Board members are affiliated with and/or represent numerous nonprofit organizations in the community, and as part of our funding organization are required to sign and adhere to the Community Foundation of Howard County’s Confidentiality and Conflict and Duality of Interest Policies, especially as it relates to our grantmaking. The WGC is a Field of Interest Fund at the Community Foundation of Howard County, and as such, WGC Advisory Board members adhere to the Community Foundation of Howard County Confidentiality Policy and Conflict and Duality of Interest Policy.
The WGC fully adheres to these two policies regarding business transactions and arrangements and grantmaking activities.
Additionally, the WGC:

- WGC Confidentiality Policy – The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County Advisory Board will not disclose any confidential information as outlined in our policy that the Foundation obtains from another party or entity and that the Foundation treats or designates as confidential or proprietary information, whether or not such information is owned or was developed by the Foundation.
- Conflicts and Duality of Interest Policy - The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County consistently follows a policy of avoiding any conflict of interest or the appearance of any conflict of interest on the part of its Advisory Board members and Foundation staff in the consideration of the making of grants and in conducting its business activities.
The WGC fully adheres to these two policies regarding business transactions and arrangements and grantmaking activities.
Additionally, the WGC:
- Gratefully accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals, organizations, and foundations to help support our core activities and provide grants to our nonprofit partners.
- Publicizes all revenue sources and the names of all donors, who are WGC members.
- Accepting financial support does not mean the WGC endorses donors/members or their products, services or opinions.
- Will not accept support from sources who, deemed by our board of directors, present a conflict of interest with our work or compromise our independence.
