The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County is hoping to raise $1,000 to support the Community Action Council (CAC) this Thanksgiving, through our Emergency Response Network (ERN). Our partners at the Community Action Council areproviding full holiday meal kits to families in our community. The CAC's mission is to diminish poverty, enable self-sufficiency and advocate for low-income families and individuals, and they continue to see a significant increase in demand for services at the Howard County Food Bank. “It’s hard to imagine that poverty is a problem in an area like Howard County, but one-in-four neighbors are struggling to make ends meet every day,” said Bita Dayhoff, CAC president. “Our vision is to enhance the quality of life for our neighbors so they may share in the promise and opportunity of our community, but we cannot do it alone. It is only with the help of our community partners, supporters and volunteers that we are able to meet the ever-growing needs of the clients we serve every day.” On behalf of our partners at the Community Action Council, we are looking to raise at least $1,000 to support families in our community this Thanksgiving.
We also encourage you to consider engaging your family in a volunteer effort to support CAC this Thanksgiving - they have made it meaningful and easy!
Here is CAC's "Guide to Giving" this holiday season, which provides numerous opportunities for youand your family to make a difference.
All gifts to this ERN request will go directly to help support the Community Action Council. Can you help?
Any amount is appreciated, thank you!
