WGC Emergency Response Network Request - $500 - Can You Help?

The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County is responding to a request for help providing diapers and wipes to teen moms, dads and their families in need, and we are hoping to raise $500 that we will match with $500 ... can you help?

Our Emergency Response Network is typically utilized for donations up to $1,000 to help an individual in need. However, during this unprecedented COVID-19 public health crisis, today we are inviting donations of up to $500 that the WGC will match, to help numerous teen parents in need.

Additionally, Wilde Lake High School Principal, Marcy Leonard, has organized a diaper and wipe drop off tomorrow - Monday, March 23 at Swansfield Elementary from 10:45 am - 12:00 pm to support teen parents. Any kind of baby wipes are appreciated, and diapers in sizes 2,3,4 and 5 are needed - open packages are welcome.

Wilde Lake hosts the Teen Parenting Program for the entire county, so donations support students from across HCPSS, not just Wilde Lake. ​

Over a dozen teen moms, dads and their babies are in the program.

​These donations will be incredibly important in helping these students and their families focus their often-limited financial resources on other vital needs since they won’t have to worry about restocking diapers and wipes.
